Bishop Wordsworth’s becomes a local centre in the South West of England for national teacher training events in Modern Foreign Languages.
On 15 October 2010 BWS hosted the first MFL teacher training event in collaboration with Bath Spa University Links into Languages South West and we have become a Regional Centre to support teachers of languages. We are now one of a nationwide network of schools who have been selected to run training events and meetings for teachers of languages locally.
The October event, ‘Raising the bar at Key Stage 4’ was designed for languages teachers who teach GCSE students and was led by Rachel Hawkes, Assistant Principal at Comberton Village College, Cambridgeshire. Rachel is also a Specialist Schools Trust Lead Practitioner and Regional Subject Advisor for the languages curriculum.
