Modern Languages — Chakunkula

BWS welcomed Mrs Bwalya Kaulungombe, a teacher from our link school, Chakunkula. She is pictured working with 8P in Geography where they have been comparing and contrasting local communities in Salisbury and Lusaka. She was able to talk to the boys about some of the issues affecting young Zambian people today. In art, 7J have been working on a batik project using African animals and patterns in their designs. Ms Mclaren is going to help set up a similar project at Chakunkula in July. The Zambian pupils will create designs using images and patterns from Salisbury Cathedral and the local area. As well as spending time in school, Mrs Kaulungombe has visited local landmarks, she has seen the sea for the very first time and has spent the day in London to see the sights. Our link is once again supported by the British Council through the ‘Connecting Classrooms’ scheme.
